Over two weekends a group of sangha members got together to reflect on the effect that our possessions, and our relationship to them, can have on our spiritual life. By letting go of those things that are holding us back, we can move towards what inspires us. What effect can an uncluttered, inspiring environment have on our minds? Can we identify those possessions that are truly precious and give them space to shine?
We discussed the weight of sentimental objects, overstuffed cupboards, and what to do with collections of books and photographs that are taking over our homes. Some folks rebuilt their shrines (check out the before & after pics below!) whilst others finally tackled the ironing pile.
A lively and entertaining WhatsApp group sprang into life full of inspiring quotes, before and after photos and much encouragement and advice from spiritual friends.

“We all tend to come up against the same problems when it come to clearing things out; doing it together gives that extra push and other people’s ideas can be inspiring and funny. It feels great – small changes can make a big difference!”
