The government has confirmed Step 4 of the Roadmap will proceed on Monday 19th July at which point the majority of Covid restrictions will end, and guidance will emphasise personal responsibility.
We are really looking forward to the benefits of using the building fully again.
Changes to in-person events at the Buddhist centre.
- Masks and social distancing – These will no longer be required by law, although you may wish to continue to wear a face covering and would be welcome to do so. We are waiting for guidance from the government for Places of Worship, but it is possible that we might ask you to consider wearing a mask when there are very large numbers at an event, or where particularly vulnerable people are attending. This will remain optional.
- Restrictions on group size for events & mitra study will be lifted.
- Booking to attend events will no longer be essential.
The next few weeks
Our aim is to make this transition as smooth as possible for everyone, understanding that some will feel cautious about returning to in-person events inside and others might not be able to for health reasons.
Our rooms will be set up with some space between the chairs and cushions, and where possible we will continue to leave the doors and windows open to improve ventilation.
To avoid crowding inside the Buddhist Centre we will continue to set up the tea station and any shared food outside, and during events the covered outside spaces will continue to be available to help avoid crowding.
