22 May
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Do you write, think up new ideas, make textiles, pots, music, prints,
videos, perform, tell stories, crack jokes, paint, draw or decorate?
Would you like to get going? Encouragement? Feedback? An
audience to test new ideas? If you scribble on the side of your fridge
or sing in the bath ….whether you consider yourself an “artist” or your
school told you not to bother, this is for you.
Like to explore ideas that are innovative and unusual and that are not
limited or controlled by ‘rules’ or tradition? Let’s meet, share our
creations/ arts activities and find ways to move on, break free,
spiritually and creatively. Let’s encourage each other to be true
individuals, to feel the fear, do it anyway and dare to dream!
Please note I am not running this session officially… wish to be an equal participant!
Perhaps we can discuss what we all want & how often we wish to meet? Abhayamala.
In the Great Hall – arrive from 3.45pm. We’ll rest things against walls or pass around. Plan is to keep everything as easy as poss.

Mind Training: The Sevenfold Puja
Bodhinaga introduces the sevenfold puja in the context of the Mind Training tradition to conclude the theme of Light in the Dark.
Samsara is full of surprises. It won’t do what we want. In the end it always lets us down.
But the Dharma gives us the tools to cope with this.
Life is a Dream
The Dharma invites us to consider the possibility that nothing exists in the way that we think it does. What would it be like if we could see that all of the things we usually get caught up in are as transient and insubstantial as dreams? Satyajyoti will be exploring this perspective through the mind training slogan, ‘All dharmas are dreamlike’.
Intensifying practice in the midst of everyday life using the mind training slogans opens up the possibility to change how we live and free ourselves and others from the dissatisfaction of our habits.
Samsara is full of surprises. It won’t do what we want. In the end it always lets us down.
But the Dharma gives us the tools to cope with this.
In this series we’ll explore how, through:
The wisdom approach
The heroic approach
The compassionate approach
And…
The hardline approach
Recorded at Sheffield Buddhist Centre 05.04.22
