Milarepa’s Song of Meeting and Parting
A day of study and song, open to all those who have completed the 12-week Introductory Course
Led by Manjuvajra and Sanghagita
Come and learn Milarepa’s hauntingly beautiful Song of Meeting and Parting. In some ways it’s more like a chant, so no need to worry about not being “able to sing”. Put to music many years ago by the Order Member Anoma, the song has become a jewel of Triratna ritual, but is in itself a profound Dharma teaching.
We are so pleased that Manjuvajra, who has been inspired by Milarepa for almost fifty years, will join us to give an introduction to his life and teaching, and explore the meaning of this beautiful song. Manjuvajra met Sangharakshita in 1970, was ordained in 1973 and worked for the movement in Cornwall, London, and in the USA in Boston, San Francisco, and Missoula; he founded the Aryaloka Retreat Center in New Hampshire. He returned to the UK in 1997 and was involved with the ordination of men at Padmaloka and Guhyaloka and now, after caring for his father for some years, he is focused on facilitating long retreats at Uttaraloka in the Spanish mountains.
