Newcomers

We run a regular programme of introductory classes for people who are new to Buddhism and meditation as practised in our tradition. Because meditation is one part of an overall package in Buddhism, most of our classes for newcomers are an introduction to Meditation and Buddhism, rather than being just about meditation alone. Here’s what’s coming up:

Six Week Course Introducing Buddhism and Meditation

This course explores basic Buddhist tools for living well: ethics, meditation and wisdom. It includes an introduction to the mindfulness of breathing and development of loving kindness meditation practices.

The course is free, but donations are welcome from those who can afford them.

Sat from 8th November 10:30am-1pm
Weds from 28th Jan 7:30-10pm

Introductory Day

A day introducing basic Buddhist principles and meditations. These events are free but donations are welcome from those who can afford them.

Next Intro Day: Sunday 18th January 10am—5pm

Sign Language available on request: BSL interpreter NRCPD registered T.I.

Lunchtime Meditation

Tues  1pm-2pm

One hour sessions including led body awareness and mindfulness of breathing or development of loving kindness meditation. Ideal for newcomers or anyone looking for a quieter, stiller way to spend their lunch hour. Doors open from 12.30am, and the class starts promptly at 1pm, so if you can, come a little early, giving yourself a chance to ‘arrive’
